Nerja Sightseeing Tour, City Sightseeing

A wonderful way to see the best of Nerja – City Sightseeing Tour

Nerja sightseeing made easy. Anyone who has ever come to Nerja must have been on the ‘Wally-Trolley’ that is run by  City Sightseeing, the open-top bus tour company. It’s actually a bus but looks for all the world like a small train.

City Sightseeing, which operates in cities such as Antequera, Fuengirola, Malaga and Seville in Andalucía, as well as major cities around the world, inaugurated a sightseeing train in Nerja on Tuesday 12th of December 2015.

Nerja was the eighth Andalusian destination for the multinational company and the sixteenth in the whole of Spain at the time. While the company usually uses open-top red buses in large cities, such as in  Malaga, it opted for a road train for its new project in Nerja.

The full tour, which lasts 45 minutes, takes in Plaza de España, the Nerja Museum, the Balcón de Europa and the old town centre. It starts from Plaza Cavana between 10:00 and 14:00 and from Plaza Fabrica de Los Cangrejos from 18:00 (these times may vary with the season, so, please check the timetable on your arrival)

When it was first introduced, City Sightseeing gave residents the opportunity to try the new bus for free for a few days. Ever since then, it has been a big hit with locals and tourists alike.

You can sit back, relax and take in all the best sights in Nerja. And, because you don’t need to drive, you won’t miss any of the many great photo opportunities available in this beautiful seaside town.

The rest of Nerja you can see on foot. There are many interesting things to see, plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and entertainment.

Start off from the Balcon de Europa, with fantastic views of the Costa del Sol coastline and the Mediterranean Sea, head past the church of San Salvador and down to Plaza de Los Cangrejo Park. Here there are some great places to sit and watch the world go by or to have something to eat. There are also some great views from here.

From then on, Nerja is all yours. You can take your time and get to know the town really well.

Enjoy.
