Frigiliana is a town in southern Spain. It’s known for its Moorish old quarter and narrow streets decorated with ceramic mosaics. El Ingenio is a 16th-century Renaissance palace now housing a sugar cane factory.
Exhibits at the Archaeological Museum include Neolithic bones, Phoenician pottery and a 16th-century dagger. Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park shelters Spanish ibex and peregrine falcons.
Frigiliana has been voted as one of the most beautiful towns in Spain and it is well worth taking a walk there. The town is very pretty with its high, winding streets and beautiful wall plaques.
The Church of San Antonio is a beautiful place to visit. With brilliant white walls edged in gold, there is a fantastic high altar and a host of beautiful statues and artefacts. The church is a photographers dream.
There are many interesting sights to see and the walking is excellent. I found this brilliant website that has a video of Frigiliana and the surrounding countryside. Take a look and see what a great day out there is to be had.
