Spanish heatwave 2020 – get ready for a hot year

At this moment in time, it is over 24ºC on the Costa del Sol. The beautiful weather kicked in weeks ago and is set to continue. We are looking at unusually high temperatures for the winter months here in Andalucia.

Nerja and the Costa del Sol are always the best places to be in the wintertime. Winter sun holidays along the Costas are very popular with young and old alike. They have the benefits of cheaper flights. The lower prices of accommodation and the beaches are not as packed as they are in the summertime.

The food and drink are also cheaper during the winter months, so, a winter sun holiday in Nerja is a very handsome prospect.

The big heatwave is coming!

If we are to believe what we read online and in the mainstream media, Spain is set for record temperatures in 2020. If this winter is anything to go by, they will be right. Also, in this day and age of technology, it is now rare not to know what the weather will be like in a week, month or even a years time.

In 2017 Seville recorded a daytime temperature of  46.9ºC; This is expected to be broken in 2020. See more.

Summer holidays in Nerja

The coastal areas of southern Spain are normally cooler than those of inland cities, such as Seville and Madrid but it can still get very warm. Renting a villa or an apartment with a pool is one way of taking the heat out of the daytime.

There is always the lovely Mediterranean Sea to enjoy and places such as Burriana Beach but nothing beats having a private or shared pool that you can use at any time of the day or night.

Check out the main Nerja Beach Holidays website and pick yourself a real hot deal (no pun intended) for Summer 2020. If you need help or more information, please contact Nerja Beach Holidays directly and we will be delighted to help.

Don’t forget your suncream, it will come in very handy.
